Plastic Garment Bags

A plastic garment bag can be a great help when you're trying to get from Point A to Point B without mussing your dress. Whether it's dinner at the in-laws or a trip down the altar, there are often times when we need to travel in one outfit and impress in another. A plastic garment bag is ideal for traveling in the car, by rail or just down the block. These lightweight, easy-to-use garment bags keep your dinner jackets, ball gowns, bridal gowns or business wear fresh and ready-to-wear without side trips to the dry cleaners or additional laundry charges (and inconvenient waiting times) at your hotel.

Plastic garment bags are also useful in protecting your car's upholstery from clothes that have become dirty and need to be brought home. Children's soccer uniforms, mechanics' working coveralls or hobby clothing for potters or gardeners can be removed at the site, placed into a plastic garment bag reserved for dirty clothing, and brought home with no risk to the upholstery. Simply empty the plastic garment bag into the washing machine, air the bag out to prevent moisture from accumulating, and replace into the trunk of your car for the next time.

For dry cleaners or members of the hospitality industry, providing your hotel, cruise or business customers with plastic garment bags indicates your high level of commitment to their comfort convenience. Travelers frequently limit themselves to bringing fewer garments than they would prefer, and ongoing travel may result in suits that become stale and wrinkled long before the traveler is ready to go home. By making plastic garment bags available to your customers, you are showing your consideration for one of traveling's great annoyances—needing to wear something that has gotten smudged or even torn due to inadequate packing or storage.

Choose plastic garment bags with a strong central zipper, a well-constructed internal hanging system, and plenty of width to accommodate full suits of clothing. The better garment bags are closed at the bottom, so clothes never come into contact with the floor or the ground. You may find plastic garment bags with hangers, or may opt for the simple garment bag with a space at the top for the outfit's original hanger to fit through.
