Carry On Garment Bag

With airlines tightening every restriction, it’s important to know which items you will be allowed to carry on before you even begin packing. Planning your carry on luggage can make the difference between waiting in line at the baggage claim and getting directly to the beach of Hawaii!

Most airlines allow two carry-on items, but although they may permit them, there is often not adequate space for them once you get them on the plane. With more and more people adding laptops to their carry ons and more and more airlines squeezing passengers together tighter than ever before, the smaller your luggage the more comfortable your trip.

Carry on garment bags with wheels are usually made to fit under the airline seat. When packing, think abut the items you may want access to during the flight, and place them into your second carry on, so you can get to them if you need them. Unless you’re flying first class, there is often no room to pull a carry on garment bag out from under the seat in front of you, dig through it for the book you’ve been dying to read, and then replace the bag. Pack your book, bottled water, snacks and pillow into a smaller bag that you can quickly unpack upon reaching your seat and then stash in the overhead compartment.

If you choose a carry on garment bag without wheels, you may very well be able to place that in the overhead storage bin. In that case, place the items needed during your flight inside your carry on garment bag, preferably in the outside pockets where you can get to them easily while settling into your seat.

Carry on garment bags should be light, easy to handle and small enough to fit the airline carry on requirements. They are available in a wide range of styles and colors, and can contain special pouches for holding wet bathing suits, toothpaste and toothbrush, hair care items and extra glasses cases. All the major luggage companies make carry on garment bags as do stores like Target. The world’s designers have also created lines of high-fashion garment bags, recognizing the need for travelers to brig what they need in a compact, easily portable and stylish bag.stylish container. A good carry on garment bag can contain everything you need, even for an extended vacation. An industrious packer can pack all that’s needed for a week in Hawaii in about half of a standard sized carry on garment bag, leaving the rest of the space for gifts and items acquired during the holiday.
